Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Resonance Charms Tier List
Which charm types to hunt first, and what each stack actually does.
Charms in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy are not jewelry slots. They are six independent proc tables. Find more of a type, raise the chance. They auto-equip. You cannot leave a Trinket in a box to “save it.” This ranking is about which type changes fights, not about fashion.
Locations sit on collectibles. Chapter counts sit on the walkthrough. Combat context sits on the combat guide.
S tier
Arm Bands. Slight chance to widen the parry window. Resonance is a parry game. Extra window is the difference between a stagger dump and a chip hit. Even dodge-first players still parry white attacks. Hunt these whenever a chest is optional.
Beads. Slight chance an archer’s arrow misses. Archers are the cheap death in compact arenas. A stacked Bead set is more valuable than a late damage node because arrows ignore your kick timing. Chapter 2’s first Bead is the tutorial that this type matters.
A tier
Trinkets. Slight chance not to die on a lethal hit. This is not a heal. It is a once-in-a-while undo. On default difficulty it saves trophy runs more than story runs. Still A because a wipe before a checkpoint also drops Resonance Points in that room.
Pierced Coins (Theseus Echoes). Slight chance not to empty Focus on use. Five of them. They come online when Theseus tools appear, so they are dead weight in Venice and huge in Night Has Come. Rank them A for the back half, B if you only care about Chapters 1–5.
B tier
Bracelets. Slight chance to deal more critical damage. Charged dagger already pays off stagger. Extra crit is welcome and never bad. It just does less than not getting shot or not dropping a parry. Grab every Bracelet; do not reroute a chapter for one.
Seals. The sixth type. Treat a missing Seal like a missing Bead: the stack is starved until you have five. If a patch or menu tooltip lists a more specific proc, follow the in-game text. Until then, complete the set for Superstitious rather than for a day-one damage myth.
How to hunt without a map
Chests sit in squeeze gaps, at statue feet, and immediately after grapples. IGN’s Chapter 2 pattern is the whole game: yank archer, shimmy, chest on the left. Chapter 4’s circular statue room hides a Trinket at a statue’s feet after the spike fight. Chapter 5 is the densest charm chapter, including the first Pierced Coin. Chapter 7’s video on the collectibles page shows a Bead, Arm Band, Pierced Coin, Bracelet, and Trinket in one mission.
You do not bank charms in a stash. You also do not need to equip them before a boss. Pickup is the upgrade. If Superstitious is the goal, chapter select after the credits is allowed. If you want the procs during Like a Warrior, pick them up live so the 165-point run is also the comfortable run.
Pairing with skills
Arm Bands plus Aegean Deflect is the parry kit. Beads plus extra dodge is the anti-archer kit. Trinkets plus Heroic Surge is the “stay in the pack” kit. None of these require a specific blade. Swap swords from the blades page per room; leave charms alone.
A story run can ignore ranks and still finish. A trophy run should not ignore Beads and Arm Bands. That is the entire list.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can I unequip a charm type?
No. They auto-equip and stack. The only way to "change loadout" is to find more of a type.
How many charms are there?
Thirty: five each of six types, counting Pierced Coins. Superstitious wants all of them.
Which chapter has the most charms?
Chapter 5, then Chapter 7. Use the walkthrough table and slow down in those two.
Do charms carry into chapter select?
Yes. Unlike Resonance Points, charm trophies can be finished after the story.
